Finding My Voice: Writing, Life, and the Journey In Between
I never imagined myself as a writer. If you had asked me a few years ago who I was, I would have told you I was a corporate professional navigating the daily grind.
I was, and still am, chasing deadlines, attending meetings, and managing different responsibilities just like everyone else.
With a 9–5 job, my life revolved around work, with little time or energy left for anything else. And for the longest time, I thought that was just how life was supposed to be.
Writing was never a part of my identity, and I certainly didn’t think of myself as someone with a “story” worth telling.
But life has a way of steering us toward paths we never expected, often in ways we don’t fully understand at the time.
For me, that turning point came soon after COVID-19. One that forced me to slow down, step back, and question everything.
A mental health condition, a conversation with a doctor, and endless discussions with my husband about what we truly wanted out of life. All of these moments pushed us to rethink our path.
We started asking ourselves: Is this really how we want to spend the rest of our lives? Working jobs that take up all our time…
