Isn’t it funny how words usually flow like a river when you write something other than an “About Me” story? However, when you have to publicize yourself, words isolate you. Maybe that’s the downside of being a writer, though the positives outweigh the negatives by far.
Yet, I’m grateful to the About Me Stories Guidelines for giving me ideas on how to write one. So, let me finally introduce myself.
Who Am I?
As you already know my name, I’m from Kolkata, India, born and brought up in a small town neighboring the city, surrounded by nature. When I was a kid, I liked it here. I loved the birds that sang in the morning, the trees that swayed to the gentlest of breezes, the grass that kissed my feet when I walked and ran barefoot, and the ponds that filled with water and fish during the monsoon. But so much has changed in a decade. There are no birds to sing outside my window, no greenery to soothe my eyes strained from the blue light of my computer screen, no fish jumping around in the pond, and no peace. Now, everywhere I look, it feels like my childhood is gone, taken away by industrialization. I don’t blame anyone for it, though; I knew it was going to happen.
