Member-only story
Greetings! I’ve procrastinated writing this piece long enough. It’s time to dive in and trust my audience is willing to go with the flow. There’s a good chance I’ll obsessively edit, both before and after publishing. You’re welcome to check back periodically and see what’s new. One day you’ll be able to say you knew me when I was a fledgling writer — before I became the most successful wordsmith of our time.
MIN
During childhood my nickname was Minnie, shortened to Min. Although I weighed almost nine pounds at birth, that larger-than-average trend didn’t continue. I’ve been smaller than peers most of my life. I remember my younger brother saying, “Someday I’ll be older than you!” I told him he’d probably grow bigger than me, but he’d never be older. It wasn’t long before he was taller — I maxed out at a height of 5'3". The nickname faded as relationships with people from the early days changed.
