About Me — Rachna
A Developmental Journalist chasing Stories, Scores, and Soundtracks!
I get scared when someone asks me ‘Who am I?’ as it sound more of a spiritual question to me. ‘About me’ in comparison, feels easier as I can collect and present the things I like, dislike, care about, hate and all other things in between.
‘Rachna’ means ‘creation’ in Hindi. The name has worked pretty well for me till now. I have absolute respect for creativity and I fall in love with any authentic creation almost instantly. Riding on my gut feeling since 2015 (grade 10th) I have attempted to create using all forms of media - films, articles, reports, documentaries, songs, interviews and photo stories. I wait for something to ‘click’ and then I choose the most suitable medium to do justice to it.
A Political Science graduate and a student of Development Journalism, I am currently working with the communications team of a federation for informal women workers cooperatives in Gujarat , India called SEWA. I let all good things like a women’s cooperative in rural India for instance, to influence and inspire me. I am also an idealist.
