Still figuring it out
I’ve never been good at introductions, but the first day of class icebreakers and intros in my college classes have prepared me for cases like this.
I’m Raphael, although sometimes I refer to myself as RJ in my writings. I am currently in my third year of college, and I could not be more excited to be finished.
Traveling
A friend took the picture above of me in La Plaza de España in Seville, Spain, this past May. This summer was my first time in Spain, and I absolutely loved it. I learned so much about Spain’s history, culture, and language as a Spanish minor, completing it over a six week study abroad program. It was the first time I was away from home for longer than a week, and this experience really opened my eyes to traveling and just how much of a privilege it is to do so. A few of my favorite places I saw were La Cueva de Nerja, La Mezquita in Córdoba, La Plaza de España, Park Güell and La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, and many more.
Other than Spain and Portugal this summer, I’ve been to Germany, Luxembourg, France, and Belgium. I’m hoping to cross off a few more countries on my list soon, at least within the next five years.
But what I’ve come to learn about traveling for me is that it’s also a great inspiration for some of my writings…
