About Me — Robin Chappell

Or, as my brand says, “The 21st Century DaVinci”

Yes, I know that by saying that my brand is that I’m the “21st Century DaVinci” sounds like I’m the ultimate braggart, but…

I’ve devoted my entire life to the pursuit of Creating and Creativity.

I began both drawing and writing at the early age of five, and I mean to say that I started and then continued. Creativity and exploration were the only things that I pretty much had as a child.

My father should have been a Pianist or a Comedian, and my mother should have been an Artist and a Clothing Designer. But it is the 1950s, and their expected roles were mother and father, my father being the “breadwinner” and of course my mother, the “stay at home” type.

And as soon as my mother began having my other siblings, I was pretty much on my own. She was not cut out to be a mother but continued as her societal status dictated.

Now my father on the other hand, (being at heart a gypsy), chose a job where he could travel and the meeting of Others. Needless to say, it is the 60’s, and he wasn’t home much.

Now on to Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo was an “illegitimate son” (aka “bastard”) of a local Vinci nobleman and a ‘woman of the streets.’ This would normally have meant…
