Hi! I am Sadie, a stay-at-home mom, who lives in the southwest with my husband and son. We are excited to welcome our second child in the spring!
Growing up, I was the stereotypical bookworm. I would often stay up late into the night (okay, it was probably 10 pm) reading whatever book had captured my interest. One more chapter was my mantra. When I heard the sounds of footsteps on the stairs, I would quickly turn off my bedside light, not wanting my parents to catch me and revoke my late-night reading privileges.
It was only natural that my love for books would eventually lead me to write my own stories. In fourth grade, my teacher expertly guided our class through the writing process and allowed us to “self-publish” our final products for check-out in the school library. As I wrote, I came alive. I published many more books than the required amount. Although I think my little sister might have been my only reader, my ten-year-old self had found her calling as a future author.
Yet, as often happens, that passion faded as I got older, especially as writing in school became more academic and the reality of becoming an author seemed like a far-off dream. I didn’t even know a single writer in real life. I knew teachers though and so I declared Elementary Education as my major…
