About Me — Sadie Seroxcat
The person behind the cat.
I’m an artsy ‘bohemian’ type, in my fifties, living in the rural north of England, with my partner, our teenager and a collection of animals.
I mainly write personal essays and poetry — occasionally a book review or opinion piece. Often a combination of those.
Mental health is something very close to my heart. I myself have been diagnosed with C-PTSD and have lived with depression, anxiety and panic attacks for decades now. I feel that many mental issues are caused by the stress placed on people by life in our modern societies.
I am a writer at heart, but have done many things to earn money over the years. At present, I am full-time care giver for my partner, who is house (and frequently bed) bound and disabled by long-term illness. This can be difficult because I am simultaneously dealing with my own multiple medical conditions, chronic pain and fatigue.
I have a BA(Hons) degree in Education Studies and Literature. I’m really interested in learning, development and psychology.
My first love was and always will be reading. I love books in any and all shapes, sizes and genres. The place I loved best as a child was the local library.
