Still on sabbatical
I’m a widowed Filipino American retired software engineering manager that took a sabbatical in 2022 but never went back to my nearly 30 year healthcare IT career that I thought I would “just take a break from”…
Instead I decided to focus and work on my physical, mental, spiritual, financial and relationships health. And to write about it too.
It took me a few starts before I felt confident enough to publish any of my writings. I was and still am learning to cope with the loss of my wife to cancer. Writing on Medium has been my therapy.
This creative endeavor has been one of the outlets helpful in keeping me engaged with positive experiences allowing me to, even in retirement, continue to grow, expand and improve myself and my life.
Reflection has revealed to me just how lucky I was, am and continue to be. I share my writings with anyone interested enough to read them, with the hope they enlighten something positive no matter how big or small, that improves the readers lives in any way.
