About Me :

My name is Shubham Patil, and I am thrilled to share my journey with you through this publication. As a passionate writer and philosopher, I explore the intricate layers of human experience, delving into themes of consciousness, identity, and the pursuit of inner freedom. My writing reflects my quest for understanding and enlightenment, inspired by profound moments of clarity and the teachings of various philosophical traditions.

My Journey of Awakening :

So…. long story short, I was introduced to a Vedantic philosophical school back in 2017 in India to understand the nature of reality. This exploration involved various meditative practices, which led to a phenomenal experience that I want to share with you

About seven years ago, I experienced what I call my “moment of clarity.” It occurred at the most unexpected time — I was listening to the Sacred Conscious ‘Bhagavatam Purana’ with curiosity. In an instant, the notion of self vanished, replaced by a state of hyper-awareness. I became intimately aware of every mote of dust, every strand of hair, every sunray, and every vibration of air. It felt as though I was part of an exquisite symphony of energy unfolding. Though it seemed to last an hour, it was likely less than five minutes. The overwhelming sense of peace and calm from that moment has stayed with me ever since. I felt that everything was exactly as it should be — every molecule, every wave, every movement perfectly in place.

I was able to recreate this experience again two months ago. If this is what Atman is, I can only imagine the nature of Bhagwan. I am deeply in love with this state — I cannot resist it or hold onto it for longer. It transcends the ego, for there is no “me” here. The release I felt from the false identity that missed out on that experience was immensely relieving. I felt truly free, as though I had escaped from a prison.

After that experience, my life changed immensely. I found myself drawn to the works of many philosophers, such as Carl Jung, Alan Watts, Lord Kapil and Jiddu Krishnamurti. Their ideas and teachings further fueled my exploration of the mind and the nature of reality.

Professionally, I am a data scientist and former civil engineer. My analytical skills and technical expertise enrich my approach to exploring philosophical questions and existential themes. As a contributor to Medium, I write under the username selfsutras, where I share my reflections and insights on philosophy, self-realization, and the human condition.

I am excited to engage with you through this publication and invite you to join me on this journey of exploration and discovery.
