About Me — Sincerae

Two things I have so much devotion to are education and writing.

When I first saw About Me Stories publication here on Medium, I quietly started making plans to submit my tiny “autobiography” when I got a chance.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sincerae Smith.

I have been writing on Medium for a total of seven months. I took a four month break during which I thought about deleting my account. However, I came back, so here I am. I published my first piece back in late September 2023.

Who am I?

I don’t mind mentioning my age. I am a 62 year old English as a foreign language (EFL) teacher who has been teaching online for almost nine years. That is a long time to work from home, and I must admit occasionally I feel isolated even though I am an introvert. Still, I enjoy what I do, and I am devoted to my students who are adults. My current crop of regular learners live in Japan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Ecuador, Brazil, and Macedonia.

I live in the state of Georgia in the US, not the country of Georgia. My hometown is a small southern city with a big university that is a town within itself. The university is my alma mater where I received both my bachelor’s and my master’s degrees.
