About Me — Slavo Petrik
It wasn’t obvious to me from the beginning. Whatever I did in my life, wherever I traveled and whoever I met, I always somehow ended up writing about it or at least doing a written part of that thing.
I always knew what I wanted to do. The way was clearly laid out. It was like that when I started with computer programming at the age of 10. It was like that at the university studying Software Engineering and later in a string of jobs over the last 20 years.
What I didn’t realize was that I’m in the software business with just one leg. The other leg was traveling the world, writing about things around, being happy at the moment, exploring depths of meditation, and endlessly dreaming about the biggest people of our times and telling every day to myself, “if they could do it, I can do it.”
And that’s where I’m now. Splitting my time between managing a team of software developers, building my company in the evenings, and satisfying my excitement of being a reporter of life. I’m a father to Thomas and Max, husband to Katarina, and friend to the few who call me from time to time.
I don’t write for Google and don’t optimize my stories according to hundreds of advices around. I listen to experienced non-fiction writers, though. On Writing Well by William Zinsser is my favorite reading.
I hope to meet you one day. We’ll grab a coffee and talk about writing.
