About Me — Sofiane Zitouni
Education can heal lots of problems
I am currently a history and politics secondary school teacher working at an international school in Germany. I have started my writing journey to share my personal experiences as a teacher, but to also spread educational information that will benefit society.
I began as a teaching assistant working mostly as classroom support for kids with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and gained two years’ experience. Afterwards, I became a secondary school history teacher, and I am approaching the end of my second year. I achieved the skills to become a teacher through my History & Politics Bachelor’s degree and my Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
Most of my time as a teacher has been spent in London. I started out in state schools in South London and even went to work in a private school. Working in a private school was significant to me, as due to my background, I had never experienced or seen how private schools operate. This experience has given me further insight into how education works across all parts of society.
As of right now, I have moved aboard to Germany to work in a internaitonal school. Living and working in Germany has brought me a new set of challenges such as, navigating German bureaucracy and learning a new language. These challenges are important as they will strengthen my bond with the wider world.
From this point on, my blogs will focus on a number of different aspects. For example, teaching, life in Germany and history.
Lots of my stories will revolve around my personal experiences but will also aim to inform you about the topic I am discussing. Lastly, my agenda will always be to spread information that will strengthen our global society rather than impede its growth.
