Bio

I’m a 31 year old queer Black hooligan originally form Tucson Arizona, currently living and working in Washington D.C. with my Doxle, Rosie. I work professionally on environmental policy and urban sustainability projects, strategizing how to make more equitable urban developments and implementing innovative ways to democratize decision-making about natural resource management.

I have albinism and am legally blind. Not being able to drive pushes me to explore the world primarily via bike, hike, bus and train. I enjoy spending my free time long distance running, and hiking, exploring the natural history and ecology of the Chesapeake Bay and developing my nature photography. I am very interested in underground arts and culture and am creatively drawn to experimenting in alternative literary structure and genres. My favorite things to write are poetry, and short prose and essay musings on philosophy, political strategy and social movements, and modern applications of mindfulness, spirituality and mysticism. I love subterranean and underground cultures and am an avid house and techno music enthusiast!

I am a militant political ecologist, Black feminist, a healer and visionary. I love to explore new places and cultures and to practice wonder and whimsy in the mundane routine of life and living, and I love to learn from others through storytelling. Perhaps all of this sounds very ambiguously intangible, but such is the nature of identity and the process of “being”. In more tangible terms, I am very interested in “Environments”, and “Ecologies”, I work on and conceptually explore ecosystems at the material and social scale through my professional work, and I spend a lot of time figuring out how to more sustainably and ethically organize these systems. I work in the Environmental Non-profit field and also informally creative coach and mentor in personal development and capacity building.

I aspire to publish a book of poetry and essays about ecosystems and material analysis with my own photographs and artwork. I seek to write a body of work that integrates an analysis of material dialectics and mystical and spiritual explorations. I wan to make critical thinking and intuitive exploration sexy by making writings that are both informative, analytical and that texturally feel good to engage with and inspire others into their own creative processes as well. I would also like to write a novel inspired by the whimsical forays into love and adventure that I’ve experienced throughout my life.
