New and interesting writers!

Hey Medium Family!

Just another quick check-in from About Me Stories!

To those who wrote stories this week, thank you. They were thoughtful and fascinating, and reading them was an absolute pleasure.

The publication, crazy as this is, seems to be growing at a rate of about 50 followers per week, and as of today, there are 1,820 of you! ❤ (Woah.)

Shameless Plug

I just want to take a quick second to make sure you’ve heard about my publication, Introspection, Exposition, which showcases the work of honest and talented writers. It’s a pub for writers who want to dig deep and tell their authentic stories, and for readers looking for contemplative and unconventional work.

Our writers share not only honest personal essays, but also explore short fiction, humor, and poetry. We also have a section called Curiosity where our writers go deep into their obsessions — things like true crime or how the world apparently keeps spinning faster. (Who knew?!)

10 About Me Stories

Again, we got excellent stories this week. I can’t wait for you to read them and to find those new (to you) writers whom you connect with.

Let me introduce you to the following 10 writers through the stories they’ve written…

“As you may have guessed, Jupiter Grant is my nom de plume; writing anonymously enables me to be more honest and less inhibited in my work.”

“Changing course as much as I have has pros and cons. But for me, I’m pleased with what I’ve learned, and how I’ve refused to stop being curious.”

“Those harmless little stories, I realise now, were an expression of that love, that desire to acknowledge my belonging, to draw me in.”

“Reading all this, I sound vile. And I was.”

“TJC wouldn’t find her legs until I wrote and self-published my first erotica story and opened a twitter account that fall. She has been my wicked and sexy alter-ego ever since.”

“I’m an eternal, unrealistic, unyielding optimist. Forever in pursuit of a happy ending, I avoid sadness and tragedies like my life depends on it.”

“We sold everything we owned, except our dog Dooley Bear, and moved to San Pedro, Belize in October 2014. It was time to truly start living. And living we did.”

“As humans, we need our creative outlets. It is deeply ingrained into our lives, and just as we sew up the frayed ends of our favourite throw blanket, it is our stories that hold us together in times of good and bad.”

Change is the only constant.

“I have always been a feminist, but I was also a man-hater before. I always thought that women HAD to compromise in relationships, and for a long time believed that I would never marry anyone…”

Wait, don’t go yet!

To be honest, it was nearly impossible to choose this week’s stories. Everyone had a story worth telling and worth reading. If you have the time, I highly recommend reading the ‘about me’ stories by the writers tagged below.

Dave Logan, Joy B, Adrienne Beaumont, Adam Deitsch, Alan Asnen, Gavriela Dvorah Gersonrah-chesed, Stela Gineva, Kimberly Carter, and Melissa Rach.
