About Me — Suzana Nemes
Philosophy Student / Young Writer Not (Yet) Disillusioned.
Hi, Medium! I’m Suzana, a 20-year-old philosophy student and writer living in Paris.
As a French speaker, writing on Medium is a way for me to improve my English skills while also sharing pieces of my writing journey and lessons from my favorite philosophers.
I was born in Romania, but my upbringing took me across Western Europe—more precisely, to Italy, France, and Luxembourg. It wasn’t always easy being constantly the new foreign kid in school and having to learn each country’s language from scratch. But looking back on it now, I am grateful for how it broadened my horizons.
Now I’m 20, and back in Paris for college, studying philosophy at Sorbonne University. It’s amusing how people idealize this university for its prestigious name — when, in reality, it’s just your average European college with a building in desperate need of being renovated.
