About Me — Taha Abbas
Writing is my escape, not my profession
Greetings everyone,
I am a 33-year-old writer, who lives with his parents, sister, aunt, grandmother, and two cats. I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. I studied dentistry but quit during my residency, as I wanted to pursue writing.
Money never motivated me, or perhaps I am quite lazy, therefore, I later stopped working 9 to 5 as a copywriter and went into soul searching in early 2015. I was going through intense depression and chose therapy for support. After a few months, I began going through a major breakthrough in my life and what transpired during that painful yet creative phase was a form of spiritual awakening. I became aware of my spiritual gifts and learned reiki, and tarot, and started writing and connecting with my soul family over the internet to remind them that they are not alone.
In late 2016, I decided to cut off myself from social media and now I only use the medium to express myself. It’s hard for me to write every day, as I like to express when I feel motivated. I usually write about philosophy, mysticism, spirituality, fiction, and sometimes poetry.
I am not married and don’t see myself going in that direction in the future. I do feel lonely at times, as I am always at home and don’t have friends to talk to or go out with. I have been going through clinical depression for 2 years, especially due to the COVID wave, and I am trying my best to recover and continue living a meaningful life.
Feel free to connect with for deeper conversations.
