“Tell us about yourself?”

I’ve heard this question hundreds of times over the past few years. College entrance essays, club orientations, internship applications, job interviews, and study abroad mixers.

I don’t think I’ve ever answered it the same way. My answer continuously varies depending on where I’m at in life at the time and whose asking the question.

Right now, I’m at a unique place where my world has just been significantly shaken up, and I’m left to reflect on who I am and how I want to live moving forward.

I’ve been spending lots of time thinking about my experiences and determining what habits have served me well and will continue to do so. It’s also been a process of elimination as I reevaluate my values, purpose, and vision.

This is a process that I’ve only seriously done once before and one I hope to not have to do again for a few years. As much as constant reflection can bog you down in life I believe it’s also a key tool to use at moments of drastic change.
