WHO AM I?
About Me — Tanya
Discover Me Through Reading [Updated: June 2024]
Hey there, lovely people! I’m thrilled to be a part of Medium and this publication, “About Me Stories.”
Let’s take a trip down memory lane to 2001. Yes, I’m a 2001 baby, a Gen Z kid, and I’m currently 22 years young. I come from the amazing and culturally diverse country of India, and Hindi is my mother tongue.
I enjoy being around people, I also relish my alone time. I know it might sound contradictory, but by “alone time”, I mean having my me-time. It’s a time when I give myself the space to ponder random scenarios in my mind or contemplate my future aspirations and more.
In fact, each one of us should treasure our precious “me time” in this fast-paced world. Always remember to prioritize self-care.
You can also find me binge-watching series. A few of my favorites are “Only Murders in the Building” (a light-hearted show that’s got me hooked, featuring the incredible Selena Gomez, my absolute favorite), “Lost in Space,” “Friends,” “Suits,” and “Stranger Things.” And there are many more that I can’t remember right now. Oh, and I’m a proud Swiftie too. If you don’t know what that means, well, you’re missing out! But let’s not get carried away.
Dogs and cats make my heart melt, but my mom’s convinced I’d lose a pet faster than I can find my own keys! Heck, I even have a brother, and guess what? I haven’t misplaced him either.
But you know what lifts my spirits? Connecting with people from all over the world. Our planet is like this massive library filled with incredible stories, and I’m here, totally hooked, just devouring all the good stuff.
I really like to travel, but I’ve only been to places within India. I’ve visited some lovely hill stations, even though I have trouble with the cold. I tend to catch a cold every time I go to these places, so I have to take extra precautions to stay warm.
On a happier note, I absolutely love the beach! Being around water, with people having fun, makes me feel so alive. It’s a great way to have a good time, don’t you think?
Now, onto the burning question: Why am I here? While I’ve already answered this question in my first Medium blog, I’d like to reiterate it for all the new people. There’s no specific reason, but I wanted to try out this platform that everyone’s been buzzing about. I’ve heard great things not only about Medium but also about the people and the community here, so why not give it a shot? Plus, I’m here to learn.
Here’s the link of my first blog:
What can you expect from my blog? — Well, I enjoy engaging in conversations about a diverse range of topics, including skincare, lifestyle, job-hunting (with a focus on crafting effective resumes and cover letters), my insights into the world of business, random thoughts, life in general, personal stories, and more.
Oh, and one last thing — drop a comment with your country’s name. I’d love to get to know and interact with people from different corners of the world.
About Me — Updated June ‘24
Hi there! Reading my “About Me” from 2023 feels so different now, probably because things have changed, and I have changed. Am I happy? That’s subjective. Here are a few things that have changed or that I’ve started doing:
1/ I’m 23 now. It feels mentally tiring, honestly. There’s a lot to think about and do in life, but I feel clueless at the same time.
2/ I’ve started reading books, a lot. It was unexpected, actually. After failing and trying hundreds of times, one day it just clicked for me. I still don’t know how, but it was a good change. I’ve also gotten into Russian literature and am currently reading “Crime & Punishment” by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
3/ I’ve been obsessing over Lana Del Rey songs recently. I’ve listened to her songs before, but now I just can’t stop. I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to about 70% of her songs.
4/ I’ve also started writing a lot, not here on Medium but in my diary, mostly poetry (trying, would say) and stuff. I don’t know if I ever want to post it here because I judge my work and myself a lot.
5/ I got my eye laser (SMILE surgery) done in February. It was okay; I wasn’t scared, but now I take more care of my eyes than before, as it should be.
I hope 2024 gets better day by day, not only for me but for everyone. Lots of love your way.
