About Me — Vicki Steinwurtzel
Hi! Thanks for checking out my page.
Journaling is something I’ve always done, but producing a product that others will read can be daunting. While my interests are varied, a good portion of what I write never leaves my laptop.
My first documented story, at the age of ten, was a one-page draft, beginning with, “Whoa, boy. Atta, boy.” Not exactly Dostoyevski. Growing up, I consumed horse stories, wrote bad drafts, and penned inferior poetry.
My career has primarily been in education and technology, and while most peg me as a tech nerd my undergrad major was English, so I still see myself as a nerd with a book. To paint a full picture, my car’s name is Jane Austen.
When my only child went to college, I reexamined my life and knew that I wanted to live abroad. Although COVID put a hitch in my initial plans, at some point I jumped. Without first desire, there will be no action.

Rules to live by:
- Keep a growth mindset.

The best part of my day is early morning, waiting for the coffee to brew, for at that moment, anything is possible.
On Medium, I’ve written pieces on mindset, anti-racism, dyslexia, productivity, my sister’s death, creativity, writing, and a volunteer home build. Listed below are links to my Medium pieces.
