All about me
I was born and raised in the UK, on the North East coast, a very diverse and beautiful place.
I’m very lucky in that I live close to the coast, but also the moors of North Yorkshire are inland. To the north are cities, I have a variety of beautiful inspiring scenery.
Childhood inspirations?
I was the child sitting under the hedge talking to fairies. Or riding her bike and pretending it was a unicorn. Between the ages of 4–10 my mam was regularly called in to talk to my teacher about things I’d written in my diary that were fantastic. Like the time, one weekend I wrote that my mam had caught a rat in our kitchen with her bare hands, killed it by snapping it in half, then giving half each to the two cats. Mam was mortified! there was no rat, we didnt even have cats. We hadn’t done anything special that weekend to write about and so I’d made it all up.
I discovered my local library aged 9 and spent most of my school holidays sneaking around reading bits of Steven King, Poe and anything that looked like it was out of bounds. My aunt…
