About Me — Vipul Goyal
Engineer by heart. Balancing Family, Career, and a Passion for Travel
Definition of Life:
Life for me, is a mix of three big things: my family, my job, and my love for travel. I have a small family of three, with my little daughter at the center of it all. She’s the reason I smile every day and keeps me grounded, reminding me to enjoy life outside of work.
Being an Engineer
I’ve been working in software and technology for over 17 years, and now I’m a Senior Software Engineering Manager. I started my career writing lines of code, and over time, I grew into leading teams and managing projects. Technology changes so quickly, but my passion for solving problems and building cool things with code has always been strong. My favorite part of the job is helping new engineers grow — seeing others succeed is rewarding.
Traveler
However, one thing that brings balance to my life is travel. My most memorable trip was when I spent a whole year in the UK. During that time, I got to explore many different places, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. Scotland was one of the highlights, especially the Highlands. The scenery there is breathtaking — mountains, lakes, and winding roads that make you feel like you’re in a movie.
We also spent some time in Leeds, which had a nice mix of city life and a community feel. London, of course, was exciting with its fast pace, while Crawley offered a quieter, more relaxed vibe. One thing that made this year extra special was that we stayed entirely in Airbnb. Every place we lived in felt unique — some were cozy and warm, others were modern and sleek, and each one had its own charm.
In Edinburgh, we stayed in a flat that had a beautiful view of the castle, which was amazing. In London, we felt like real city people, staying in a modern apartment right in the middle of everything. Even though Massachusetts isn’t in the UK, it was also a surprise stop on our journey, with its peaceful countryside and calm atmosphere. Moving from one Airbnb to the next was an adventure in itself, and it taught me to enjoy change and new experiences.
Balancing my family, my job, and my love for travel isn’t always easy, but it’s what makes life interesting. Every trip we take, and every project I work on, adds something new to my story.
