My Values
№1 にならなくてもいい もともと特別な Only One
The lyric means it’s okay not to be the №1, as everyone is already the unique only one. It comes from the Japanese song 世界に一つだけの花 (The One and Only Flower in the World), which is one of my favorite songs. I love it very much. And I think this lyric can best represent my values.
I’m unique in the world, just like anyone else. All of us can choose our ways to live. I believe in my worth. I can live life on my own. We do not always need to be the №1 and win over others, as personal worth differs from person to person.
I like the example used in the song. Like many flowers in a flower shop, they are both fantastic despite various Human aesthetics. But who is the №1 flower? Flowers don’t argue about this. They live happily in the water bucket. If that’s the case, why do humans insist on comparing strengths and competing against each other?
Besides, I’m also a creative person. I love to develop software and write songs. I like to share my software and music pieces. I enjoy people’s reactions to my creations, either happy or interested. It’s my life-long dream to create something valuable for the world. That should be something that can live much longer than me.
I was born in this beautiful world. My parents, friends, colleagues, and everyone I know live in the world. So, I want to do something for the world. I want to make the world a better place. And I would love to achieve this by creating something that can make a difference.
Profession
Growing up as a Z-gen, I’ve been impressed by the power of the internet and computer from a very young age. We play games such as Minecraft and GTA. We watch anime on Bilibili and Netflix. We socialize with each other on QQ and WeChat. Although we live in different countries, our lives are deeply affected by the modern IT technology.
I still remember when I was in primary school, I developed some toy projects and shared them with my teachers and classmates. Their astonished expressions and joy…
That’s why I’m so interested in computers and chose computer science as my major.
Love for Music
I first became interested in music when I wanted to develop a video game. At that time, a guy created a melody generation algorithm by randomly choosing notes from chords in a chord progression. He uses this method to generate BGM for his own game.
Sound Horizon, a Japanese band, has a significant influence on me. Their music is astounding. And their performance is also very excellent. I remember composer Revo playing a fast-paced melody on a Flying V guitar. That’s very cool. Since then, I’ve been really into music and learning music by myself.
Now, I can compose songs and share them with my colleagues. I enjoy the process.
