How does one condense themself into a short, readable snippet? ENFP, Huffledor, skincare aficionado, wannabe mermaid, avo toast fiend…

The truth is I’ve always felt like I’ve existed on the outskirts of labels and identities — a biracial, bisexual, zillenial blur.

I think one of the reasons “About Me’s” are tough to make is because to write about oneself is such a tricky thing to pinpoint — it’s hard to convey all the little complexities of someone’s being in a short 3 minute read. That’s a lot of pressure. But I guess that’s not the point either. It’s more like a preview, a movie trailer, a flashy hook. I’ve never been the best at introductions, but here’s my attempt!

Why are you here?

I’ve always been a curious person with a passion for writing and a drive to understand the world (and the people in it). This led me to double major in english & psychology and minor in professional writing. My senior year I was able to tutor for my university’s writing program — it was so fun to engage with others over writing!

After graduating from UC Santa Barbara in 2018, I worked as a content writer at an edtech startup for two years. Now I’m looking forward to sharing some writing of my own!

I also recently-ish started a light-hearted, conversational podcast covering all sorts of topics related to sex education, sexuality, dating, relationships and self love. I started it because having open and candid conversations with friends (along with educating myself) made me feel a lot more empowered. And I wanted to share that energy with others! So, I hope to relay some insights from the podcast through blog posts on here as well.

So that’s the resume stuff, but what about YOU?

Okay, here’s some fun facts! ’Cause who doesn’t love fun facts?

• I’m a California babe born and raised!
• I studied abroad at The University of Sydney in 2016. I absolutely loved it and I used to travel a lot pre-pandemic!
• I’m both a cat AND a dog mom.
• I love beach walks and sunsets. I know it’s cliche. I don’t care. Gimme a gorgeous sunset with the ocean kissing my feet and I’ll be happy as a clam for the rest of the night!
• I have too many accounts on Instagram: a writing account, an account for the podcast, a just-for-fun photography account, my main account and a finsta. In case you were wondering, Instagram limits you to 5 accounts. I’d probably have more if I could! I’ve been wanting to make a fan account for my pets…
• I also make too many Spotify playlists. 49 playlists and counting. My favorite one is called “it’s a vibe 🤷‍♀️”.

What can I expect from this blog?

For now this space will host an array of different content: random musings/journal entry/poetry type of posts, short-form thoughts, and also some more traditional blog style pieces.
