About Me — Zsófia Vera

Lessons from the darkness

Hey there, my name is Zsófia Vera.

It translates as wisdom (from the greek, sophia) and truth or faith (vera, from latin). Both my Sun and Rising signs are in Leo, which might explain the extensive array of images of me in this article, as well as the giddiness I harbour in holding such a potent mix of names. My moon sign is in Virgo however, and that meticulous earthy quality comes to ground and temper the fire a bit, thank goodness. As a result, I tend to sway between extensive periods spent in the depths of my introspective ocean, and seasons where I long to dazzle vast crowds on numerous stages and at many glitzy parties.

I write about the journey of healing through the prism of creativity, sport and more recently—thanks to the discovery of a brilliant community—music.

I have a multicultural upbringing

I was born in Budapest in 1986, a few months after the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl nearly wiped out the eastern region of Europe, but also a mere two weeks after Queen performed an epic gig in Budapest.
