Am I Overconfident? What Does Overconfidence Mean
I didn’t understand the difference between Confidence and Overconfidence, but my surroundings made me understand
The first time someone said I was overconfident was when I didn’t perform well in my exam. It was my teacher who said it. But was I really overconfident? Yes and No. First of all, I was exhausted & had given up on studies. So for me, it was natural that I didn’t perform well.
It was a surprise for others, tho. Those who were on the same level as me had scored better marks. And I got the tag of overconfident. Maybe I was.
I didn’t really care about how my exam would go if I didn’t prepare well. I didn’t care about anything. Exam days were just like some occasional things.
Those students who already knew the subjects studied for the examination. My friends and I didn’t even open the book for almost a year, and suddenly it was time to jot down the things we knew.
Our preparation was poor itself. I was just enjoying life in my 12th standard, and I promised myself not to regret this phase of my life. The phase where I had given up completely. It was a weak phase.
Yes, I felt I could score better even if I didn’t study. It was overconfidence.
