This sentence arises some thoughts inside me and to be honest in a different context of building good habits and breaking bad ones which is a crucial topic. The thoughts were about our identity as human beings. I can not think of a better word to describe us (or at least many of us) than Oreo cookies with their smooth center crème filling.

Many times we tend to judge people based on their appearance or some behavior of them forgetting that those humans have many interesting and sometimes surprising parts of their characters. Those parts are usually hidden in the smooth layer of cream between the crunchy biscuits.
