Dance and Life-Altering Substance
Three months in Europe changed my life trajectory. I’d been dancing partner dances, African Kizomba, for five years and Brazilian Zouk for two years. I tracked my dreams every night and explored my subconscious through the intentional use of psychedelics. My sensitivity to people increased, not only from studying my subconscious but also from the exchange of energy in dancing.

My dances are considered “sensual dances,” danced in an embrace. The dance journey goes through stages of sensitivity. Parts of my body came online that I hadn’t paid attention to in the past. When I first started dancing, I didn’t feel subtle cues but after years of attunement, a thought would move me as easily as a touch.
