In my view, There are no three words in any language that hold more meaning than ‘I love you’. It is because they are not just words; they carry feelingshope, stress, frustration, sadness, confusion, and more. These words are reserved for the people who hold an enormous place in our lives: family, partners, spouses, children, and close friends.

Note that ‘I love you’ does not always mean the same thing to everyone. It takes on different meanings depending on who says it and the context in which it’s spoken. For lovers, it can represent passion and devotion. Among friends, it often conveys trust and compassion. When a parent says it, it expresses care and protection.

The expression ‘I love you’ is a sign of respect for someone we truly value. As Immanuel Kant suggests, true love for human beings should be rooted in respect rather than mere admiration or passion, since respect acknowledges the other person’s dignity as a rational being.

On the contrary, especially between romantic partners, the words I love you” are often misused for the wrong reasons. Some people are hypocrites, pretending to love someone when they don’t truly feel it, nor do they show it through their actions. Others are heartless, using these words to deceive
