Hello, world! I’m Shreyas Sonwane, and like many of us, I’ve found myself on a path that’s taken me in some unexpected but deeply rewarding directions. I started my career immersed in the world of film and television, earning an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). For years, I thrived in the creative industry, working on scripts, crafting visual stories, and using film to captivate and inspire.

Over time, however, my interests began to shift toward healthcare and data analytics. I became fascinated by the potential of technology to improve patient care and address challenges in healthcare systems. Today, I’m a Healthcare Data Analyst at Ingenio Care, where I combine my skills in storytelling, data analytics, and design to improve patient care. Additionally, I am currently pursuing an Executive MBA in Business Data Analytics, further enhancing my expertise in leveraging data to make informed business and healthcare decisions.

Professional life — From Data to Better Healthcare

At Ingenio Care, an AI-powered digital health company, my role is centered on analyzing healthcare data to drive actionable insights. My work focuses on improving telehealth solutions — particularly important in today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. Every day, I sift through vast amounts of data, identifying trends and patterns that help make healthcare more patient-centric and efficient. It’s an exciting time to be in this space, as I get to contribute to innovations that make accessing care easier, faster, and more effective.

In addition to my work with data, I’m actively involved in improving Ingenio Care’s flagship product. Our goal is to create an AI-driven healthcare network that doesn’t just react to patient needs but anticipates them. Whether it’s identifying gaps in care or optimizing telehealth solutions, my work is driven by the belief that healthcare should be accessible to all.

Alongside my technical work, I’m also a medical illustrator. I’ve collaborated with professors and biotech companies, creating scientific illustrations that explain complex research findings in a clear and visually engaging way. It’s a rewarding intersection of art and science, and a continuation of my passion for visual storytelling.

What I’ll Be Writing About — The Intersection of Data, AI, Healthcare, and Art

Through this Medium blog, I’m excited to share my journey and insights at the crossroads of healthcare, data analytics, AI, and even medical illustration. I’ll be writing about topics like:

· Healthcare Analytics: How data can be harnessed to improve patient outcomes, optimize healthcare services, and tackle health equity challenges.

· AI in Medicine: Exploring the cutting-edge ways AI is transforming diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.

· Biochemistry and Healthcare: I’ll also dive into biochemistry topics, sparked by my recent coursework in this field, and how it relates to health technology.

· 3D Medical Illustration and Procedures: As a medical illustrator, I’ll share my creative process, techniques, and insights on how to effectively create 3D medical illustrations for research papers and biotech companies.

I want my writing to be accessible not just to professionals, but to anyone interested in healthcare, technology, and the ways these two fields intersect. I’ll also be sharing my experiences as a medical illustrator, offering tips and insights for 3D artists who want to break into this niche field.

A Blend of Data and Storytelling

One thing I’ve carried over from my background in film is the power of storytelling. While data can be complex, it’s also deeply human. Behind every statistic is a patient, a healthcare provider, or a decision that can impact lives. My goal is to use storytelling to make the technical accessible and to shed light on the profound ways data and AI are shaping the future of healthcare.

Looking Forward — What’s Next?

Through my writing, I want to spark conversations on how technology can improve healthcare while ensuring we don’t lose sight of the human element. As AI continues to revolutionize medicine, it brings exciting possibilities but also critical ethical questions. How do we balance the benefits of AI with the need for human empathy in patient care? What are the risks and rewards of using vast amounts of personal health data to drive innovation?

These are the questions I’ll be exploring, and I’m excited to have you along for the journey. Together, we can dive into the complex yet fascinating world of healthcare analytics, and hopefully, find ways to make the system better for everyone.
