From Shy to Confident : My Journey in Mastering Public Speaking

Public speaking used to be my greatest fear. As someone who was naturally shy, the idea of standing in front of a crowd and speaking filled me with anxiety. My voice would tremble, my hands would sweat, and I’d avoid every opportunity to present or speak up. But over time, I realized that public speaking wasn’t just an optional skill — it was essential. Especially as a pharmacy student, where presentations, discussions, and competitions are part of the academic experience, I knew I had to break out of my shell.
Fast forward to today, I’ve not only conquered my fear but also won several speech competitions, delivered workshops at campus events, and represented my groups in numerous pharmaceutical innovation contests. Here’s how I turned my weakness into a strength and tips to help you do the same.
