I Finally Realize Why Intelligent People Are Not Always Successful
Being smart isn’t always enough
You have probably known someone who was very intelligent even from early in their childhood, and because of this, many people seemed to just assume that they would become successful and go places in life, but some never do. It seems like some people, despite being very intelligent, become quite mediocre or even worse and the question is, why? I think in order to answer this, we must first define what intelligence is:
Merriam-Webster defines intelligence as:

: the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations : reason
also : the skilled use of reason

: the ability to apply knowledge to manipulate one's environment or to think abstractly as measured by objective criteria (such as tests)

: mental acuteness : shrewdness
So, according to this definition, an intelligent person has a higher ability to understand the situation that they are in and they can apply that knowledge to their situation, and at first, that would seem to set someone up for success, but there is more to it than that. Why…
