Agree or not but I think that most of us girls romanticize everything. Every little thing. Staring at the moon. Dancing in the rain. That brief eye contact with a cute stranger. When someone holds the door for you. When someone remembers irrelevant details about you. And I believe that just keeps us going.

It’s not like that eye contact leads to something meaningful or that kind stranger who held the door later confesses he’s interested. It’s just those moments of spark we live for. Those brief episodes that race our hearts for a little while.

We seek those intimate moments where the world could just stop for a while. Everything except us become a blur background. We don’t say much but we know we’re already connected. Our hearts are already connected. It’s like our souls have already met before. There’s a unique familiarity in those eyes. There’s a THERE YOU ARE! I’ve been looking for you! in that smile.

There’s that space, the comfortable one, around them. You know you’re protected. You know you’re safe. It’s not the desperation. In fact, it’s the longing we have for connection. For intimacy. For unconditional support. For being desired. For being truly heard and seen. For being respected and loved. When we find even a little part of that in someone, we’re…
