I Think My New YouTube Channel Is Taking Off!
‘Solo in the woods’
By Barbara Martin
I’m in complete and utter shock as I write this because I honestly had no expectations. I’d started my channel almost a year ago but quit for awhile, full of self doubt.
I doubted my appearance, my videoing skills, ( or rather lack of skills) and even what to talk about. Why would anyone want to listen to me, I asked myself, and decided no one probably would.
But when this platform which I love so much began showing signs of trouble, I reconsidered my youtube channel and decided to try again.
In a way I learned a similiar, very useful strategy which applies to both platforms, and that is how every article, or videos should provide value to the audience.
By watching videos about growing a channel, I realized there’s an audience for everyone and every topic. And that made me realize that somewhere out there was an audience for me.
I learned here on Medium that being authentic matters. Being real and expressing genuine thoughts reaches people on a meaningful level.
I learned the importance of connecting to my readers and applied that same mindset to my videos. And within just a few weeks of focusing on my channel it seems to be taking off.
