It’s the SADdest Time of the Year
November, you bastard
My son asked a question at dinner last night that upset me. And while I wasn’t surprised to be upset (it is a triggering topic that I will write about later), I was surprised to find myself sobbing on the bathroom floor long after dinner was over.
I could hear my husband and son happily playing hide-and-seek.
My husband needed to go back to work. My son needed to get ready for bed.
I needed to get it together.
I did, finally. I got the kiddo into bed, watched some fluff TV, and went to bed.
Where I found myself crying uncontrollably. Again. Lying across the foot of my bed, unable to get my head on the pillow, using up most of a box of tissues.
I can’t cry myself to sleep. If I’m sobbing like that, I am so amped that sleep is impossible. Instead, I got up and watched some boring documentary with my husband so I could calm down. By then I was so exhausted, and my eyes so swollen, that I crashed the minute I climbed back into bed.
What the heck just happened? Even for something I feel sensitive about, this…
