King Kong Helped Us Out
Emotional Light-Heartedness When Saying Goodbye
As a reminder about including subtitles, , book author and Medium publisher, brought back my memory about something!
One of my survival schemes is to list past events that draw my thoughts into friendlier emotional climates. I have a list of about five or six of them. I recommend making a list of such to anyone, especially those in recovery from addictive conditions.
At times, I need a lift or a laugh. It was that time to say goodbye, especially when my California Dreamer son drove me to the Oakland airport.
With no time for off-path adventures, we started a word game. It didn’t have a name. One of us, I don’t recall who said something about ping pong. The other said, “King Kong plays ping pong.” The reply was, “King Kong plays ping pong in Hong Kong.” Then, “King Kong plays ping pong in Hong Kong hearing ‘ding dong’ from the Avon lady.” We laughed a lot about that.
I dunno! Re-thinking this makes my heart lighter, which is good medicine for me.
