What Can We Really Learn From Kids?

Growing up, I dreamed of touching the stars and playing in every garden in the world. I now realize there is only one big garden, which is the “ wild garden of childhood ”, as Pablo Neruda put it. My imagination always pictured their texture as marshmallows ( and also their taste as well).

All of us were there in that beautiful garden, and perhaps almost everything in us is a reflection, manifestation, or echo of that phase of our lives. Perhaps we thought we would abandon that garden as adults, but without realizing it, we will remain in the wild garden of childhood always, even if we do not know it, even if we ignore that fact.

It is true that no matter how much time passes, you will always have a child inside you, as is the title of Stephanie Stahl’s book. It is often said that maturing means ignoring or avoiding the child within us, but I believe we must learn how to live with that child, remembering that “The art of living lies in capping opportunities,” as B.S. Murthy said. Living in peace with the child inside us and exploring their limitless potential are real opportunities.

By becoming too rational and too mind-driven, we lose some of our authenticity. As a result, we lose a great deal of connection to the heart, which is the house where dreams and…
