You know, come August 4th, my dad will have been gone 11 years and it goes without saying that the 4th of July was one of his favorite holidays if not his absolute favorite. In all honesty, I haven’t been able to really get into the holiday spirit since he’s been gone.

Now, I have kids of my own and they always spend the 4th of July with their nana, their maternal grandma, that’s fine. I always spend most of my holidays alone and that’s fine too. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t have my own activities.

For starters, I plan to work on my gaming project some more after I finish this post. I finished my replay of TMNT IV: Turtles in Time last night/this morning and am planning to start Captain Commando on SNES.

As I’m doing that, I’m going to keep an eye on my Ribs thawing in the sink and as I’m doing that, I’m going to be doing a little laundry. Do I miss my kids while they’re at their nanas, yes but that doesn’t mean that daddy won’t have his own activities.

You know, I’ve been thinking a whole lot about possibly trying to get a date or two. But, I feel like that’s not in the cards for me, at least not right now. Incidentally, I feel it would distract me from my goal of staying focused on my gaming…

Writing extraordinaire, I've always loved writing since I was a kid and I'm happy that I am able to become a paid writer like I want to be.
