I have always loved school and summer lessons for reasons I still can't figure out.
This happened to me back then, in junior high school.
During a summer class in junior high, I met three new girls. I’ve spotted them a few times in my neighborhood, which made me pleased when I first saw them. I assumed that because we all lived in the same area, we would get along well, but I had no idea I was entering into a toxic situation.
I approached them one time after summer lessons and asked for their names so I could easily identify them.
“Why the heck are you asking for our names? You’re not even sure where your mother lives. I’m guessing you were the reason for their divorce. We don’t want to be friends with you, one of them declared angrily.
My initial thought was: how could they know my parents were divorced? I was saddened and grieved on my way home, resolving not to interact with kids in the neighborhood again.
