About me – Sophia Chanu
Weaving Tales from Experiences in Life
Hello! I’m Sophia Chanu, and I’d like to share my journey with you. I am from Manipur, India, a picturesque state in Northeast India. I completed my schooling at Little Flower School in Imphal, where my love for reading blossomed. I remember how, as children, we three sisters — before our youngest sister was born — would compete to read the comics Papa bought for us. To ensure that we get to read first, we use to try to be the first to shout “Number 1”. The one to shout Number 1 will read the comics first. “Number 2” will read the comics next, and the poor number 3 will sit and wait till the first two persons finished reading the comics. Our most exciting moment every day was waiting for Papa to come home with a comic book in hand. We didn’t wait for snacks, we waited for comics.
Those days were really exciting, reading Indrajal comics and going on an adventure with Phantom or making magic with Mandrake. Those memories of sharing stories and laughter over comics remain among my fondest childhood experiences.
