My story about my About Me story was published 2 years ago in About Me Stories
Almost two years ago I published My about me story in the About Me Stories publication. It was a pub that would publish anybody. This worked because two years ago after 4 months of publishing on Medium I was still absolutely nobody.
I’ve been writing online for over 25 years. I’ve gone viral, been canceled, plagiarized, ripped off, banhammered for life, and received thousands of nude pictures I never asked for.
There was one thing online that always alluded to me.
Getting paid for my writing.
I had a blog under my domain for years. The banner ads didn’t even cover the hundred-dollar-per-year hosting fees.
I reached the upper echelon of Erowid, B3ta, Myspace, and Livejournal. Not one of them paid me a dime. But I got better as a writer.
The medium, Medium was part of my plan since day one. Since I learned it existed, I’ve always wanted to make it on Medium.
Today, I can say I’ve made it. But nothing about this was easy.
