Imagine being asked if you are pregnant….again! Not by a friend, but by a stranger with a sonographic vision, or a well-meaning acquaintance winking at your WhatsApp stories.
A woman seemingly of “child-bearing age” with a protruding abdomen could only mean one thing to them.
The truth was, this was anything but good news. It was utterly frustrating.
Not so much the weight gain, but the physical discomfort I was going through. I discovered a new issue every other week, and each time, I went into a spiral of Google research for causes and recovery.
I had no choice — life-saving medication that it was.
My cellphone sang every morning, reminding me that it was time for my meds. Not that I needed it, because I had to take it every single day at the same time without fail, so that my hand reached for them on autopilot.
