I am Øivind H. Solheim, author of novels, short stories and a many published articles and narratives on Medium.com. I am in my later years—there's no denying it. I am well past 70 and slowly approaching my 80s.

I have plenty of time to reflect on various thoughts, which I explore through writing. Some of this work I share here on this platform and in other places.

Throughout my life, from when I was 20 until now, I have lived a fairly simple, straightforward life, you could say. I completed my education at the University of Bergen, studying languages and literature. I worked as a high school teacher and, during the last ten of my 40 years of professional life, as a director of adult education.

I started a family, had children, experienced divorce, remarried, and had more children and grandchildren. I now have seven grandchildren, whom I am incredibly grateful for.

I believe it’s fair to say that I’ve always been deeply interested in thinking, philosophizing, and reflecting on both the big and small questions in life and society. I’ve always been engaged in societal issues, and over the years, I’ve written numerous articles, opinion pieces, and…
