I’ve experienced that Canadian democracy is very different than the USA
I am always annoyed when people tell me they don’t vote.
Whatever reason they give, they need to.
I don’t know if it’s accurate or not but they say 7 million women who identify as progressive did not vote in the 2024 US Presidential election. If they had voted, Donald Trump would not be President.
One of my hobbies is studying the careers of various politicians worldwide.
One that is presently trending is Damien C. Kurek, a Canadian MP.
Born November 28, 1989, this farmer was elected to represent the riding of Battle River — Crowfoot in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2019 Canadian federal election, and was re-elected in 2021 and 2025. ) On May 2, 2025, he announced that he would resign his seat to allow Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, who lost his seat, to run in a by-election. Though you can’t do this in the USA, you can do it in Canada.
