What Am I Curious About? The Question That Keeps Me Moving
Written by a distorted and delusional dogmom to a rambunctious Belgian Malinois
We live in a world obsessed with answers. Certifications, headlines, hot takes, conclusions. And yet, the thing that’s saved me — repeatedly — is not the answer, but the question.
Curiosity is what’s kept my soul alive.
It has yanked me out of heartbreak, helped me start over in a new city, and even guided me toward an unexpected new life with a rescue pup named Sauli.
But let me back up.
The Restlessness of Wondering
I’ve always had a curious mind. As a child, I wanted to know why the sky was blue and why the teacher seemed sad. I wanted to understand the way birds knew how to migrate, but I also wanted to understand why people stayed in relationships long after love had left the room.
This restlessness used to get me in trouble. I couldn’t stop asking “why” when adults needed me just to comply. Later in life, I couldn’t stop wondering if there was more — more meaning, more beauty, more truth.
That kind of wondering takes you places. Sometimes painful ones. But always real.
