Last year I wrote an introductory post, detailing the attributes that make up my character, outlining my current creative projects and the various ways I like to spend my time. This year, a lot has changed. So I thought we were due an update:

✍🏻 At the beginning of this year I decided to go full time as a freelance writer (!!) and so I registered as self-employed, bought myself some new stationary and set out to learn the ins and outs of what it really takes being your own boss. I’m six months in and I feel more comfortable doing this work than any other job before. I’ve written for publications and brands that feel so aligned with my inner world and shared my personal stories with large audiences which received a great reception. I have plans to scale and expand my business, but for now I want to celebrate where I am. I’ve built a brand I am content with and proud of, this is a first for me.

🏡 I recently moved: I had lived in Cornwall — the UK’s top seaside tourist destination — for almost 7 years, and I needed to take a break from the influx of the summer busyness whilst I put more focus into my career. I still have a flat in a town called Newquay, but for now I live with my partner in his home which is bigger and A LOT quieter — plus, I get to live with someone I love.
