Why I Prefer the Beach in the Evening

When one thinks of going to the beach, the majority automatically mentally compose the image of a hot sunny day filled with sunscreen, bikinis, swimming trunks, and seagulls poaching snacks. I know everyone has been to the beach during the daytime, but have you ever gone there after hours? If your answer is no, then let me tell you why you’ve been missing out on this underrated activity.

Fewer People Around

There is no need to stress about finding a good parking spot because most people have already gone home; parking is usually free in the evenings as well! There is ample opportunity to get a premium spot in the sand (depending on the tide levels) or walk the beach without having to step around patrons every other step. The beach environment is much quieter, and this provides an excellent opportunity to disconnect from the real world and focus on the calming sounds of the waves.

You Won’t Become a Lobster

Since the Sun’s UV rays are most potent between 10 am and 4 pm, beachgoers can forgo the need to apply any sunscreen in the evening. During the daytime hours, most sunscreen brands recommend anyone in direct sunlight lather on a new coating every 1–2 hours, which is annoying and leaves most…
