Why I Stayed Hidden For Years?
It’s always a bit strange to talk about myself.
Like trying to describe a painting while you’re still working on it. But it is important to know the writer before reading his stories to feel a sense of connect.
I’m a data scientist by profession, a writer and artist by heart.
I was born in Pennsylvania, to a Scottish family. I am the youngest in the family of 5 — Mom, Dad, Suzie, Calvin and me.
Growing up, I often felt like I was the odd one out. Not because I didn’t belong — quite the opposite. I had this beautiful, supportive family who got my back in every situation. But…
The truth is from a young age or as far as i remember, I had this constant undercurrent of anxiety, like a hum beneath the surface that no one else seemed to hear. My days weren’t filled with joy and excitement the way they seemed to be for my siblings. Instead, I often found myself weighed down by an invisible heaviness that I couldn’t shake.
I used to stay at home while Suzie and Calvin gone for a halloween party or a friend’s birthday, I stayed at home!
I felt like I became more matured in terms of my perspective towards life while my elder siblings were still fighting over cupcakes.
