We’ve all hesitated before pressing submit on a piece of our work, but probably not more so than the first time you crafted your About Me Introduction for this publication. What to say, how best to say it and more importantly, how will I come across, were probably all questions that made you second guess yourself.

We all want to build a community around ourselves and help our work find readers who will genuinely resonate with our work but in doing that we often have to drop the veil and connect with them on a more personal level.

Readers become invested in you as the person behind the pen but for a species of creatives that are frequently found on the stairs/kitchen in a house party rather than the at center of the action, it can feel like a daunting task.

Eventually after the 8th edit you called your introduction done, pushed the button and felt a sigh of relief that it was complete. With each article, poem or story you’ve published since then, you will have left bread crumbs, little glimmers of information as you’re readers build up an idea of who you are. As…
