Now that I reflect and sit here from last December when I started writing on Medium, it puts a smile on my face. I am Neli, and here I wish to write about how Medium is not just a platform, it has magically transformed into my digital haven.

My hands were shaking when I first clicked “publish” on my very first Medium story. Would anyone read it? Would my words matter? I had no idea that this moment in my life was about to launch me on the most fantastic journey I could ever have taken a writer.
Why Medium Stole My Heart💖
1. A Democratic Space for Voices
That was something special, and very few publishing venues can do that for you any more, but Medium did. My words will speak for themselves here. This was revolutionary to me as a newbie.
2. The Supportive Community
I was really surprised with the warmth of the Medium community. Each and every comment, every highlight and every reply felt like a virtual hug. Other writers were not competitors — they were compatriots, teachers and friends. Over the past few months, I have met some amazing individuals around the world.
